Staging to sell your home

October 23, 2017 by Alexandria Cornelio 1 Comment

Staging Before & After

Selling your home comes with steps. One of the most important steps is making your home presentable to potential buyers. Here is why staging is an important factor while selling your home. You might be a home owner who put a lot of time in decorating your home. Your home may be immaculate, it may be decorated in the latest trends and colors, but is your home staged correctly to sell?

Staging your home for sale is an art. First and formost you need your home to “speak to your buyers”. Knowing your market and clientel will allow a professional stager to set up your home in a way that will attract the clients in your market. Targeting your market increases your chances in selling your home quickly. You dont need to buy a whole new living room set in order to attract a buyer, but here are some small tips on what is a smart way to go about staging your home to sell.

  1. Declutter

Like the photo posted above, you may not need a complete make-over to have your home be more attractive to others. Decluttering is one of the first steps of staging. Once your space is neat with minimal accents and decor the room can feel bigger and give clients a better space to imagine there own belongings in that space.

2.Working with what you have

Paint colors and small accents like rugs, trinkets and pictures may be suggested to be changed to keep the home appealing to your prospective buyers eye. Not everyone can get past a bright purple wall, even if its the “in” color that year. You can easily work with with you currently have without breaking the bank.

3. Dont take it personally!

Its hard to not take it personally if you have someone come into your home and tell you that you bassically have to change everything about it. Try to work with what you have to create a different space with a third party decorator to maximize your living space and make it neutrual to create a canvas for prospective buyers.

It is inconvient to say the least to have to move things around and change your life for a short while. With the proper guidence it works to get your home sold quickly and efficiently!
